there are so many 500SEL's over here right now. It is even money that has any sort of upgraded engine in there too. The unstrangled 500 is a plenty powerful boat, but I bet that one just has the bodykit and wheels

Probably, but that is quite hard to find out without some specs and more investigation, there were so many levels of AMG engine tuning.

I'd have to look at it to see what's been done to it (am very familiar with these cars). At the time this was imported, you could get a domestic 420 or 560 SEL. I believe the AMG stuff was pretty much cosmetic at that point - the motor might have been tuned, but how much HP is left? Why would a 'billionaire' not just send Jeeves to the dealer and pick up a loaded 560?

Yeah, if it had the 6.0 NP, but it's hard to know what's been done to it. Because the billionaire wanted more power (my only logical answer).
